Haunted Shoes is built on the idea that every step toward something is also a step away. To choose one path is to abandon another. They call it the road not taken, but to me, it's more visceral—like something still lives in the choices we left behind. The paths we leave unwalked never entirely vanish; they leave traces. Ghosts of lives unlived. That’s what inhabits this music. That idea—of regret as a kind of residue—shapes these songs. Not just sadness. Memory, refracted through the prism of what might have been. I don’t write from clarity. I write from tension—between memory and maybe, signal and silence. I’m not trying to answer anything. I just want to hold space for the questions.
